Pinewood Derby

Guess which one is ours?

Our ward had their first annual family pinewood derby last Saturday, May 2nd. Bill took the day, after part 2 to our multi family garage sale, to work on the car with the kids. Thanks to
my dad we had a jigsaw and sander to work with, but nothing besides that. Bill never participated in scouts and I don't remember how my brothers made their cars, so we improvised. Bill held the jigsaw
with one hand and the car with the other while we all held our breath and he proceeded to carve an SUV in mid-air! I was impressed with his ability to adapt to the situation, to say the least. Through gritted teeth I had to laugh at his invitation to the kids, "Hey guys, who wants to come watch Daddy cut his hand off?" AHHH! The kids had fun helping with what they could, the paint job was all their own. The drill bit was all Bill's brain child. Surprisingly enough we made weight, even though we had just planned on entering it into the "anything goes" category. We raced with the "legal" ones and actually won a heat. Aaron was very excited and was yelling at everyone, "WE WON! WE WON!" I'm so excited for him to be in scouts!
We left a bit early to meet Sam and Nikki back at our place. They were to be arriving any minute for the week!

I agree with Gretchen; you need two hands! Be careful!
